Units of measurement

Handy allows you to edit and add new units of measurement for your products.

Creating new units of measurement

To create and see your existing units of measurement, go to Main menu > Units of measurement.

In this screen, you can view and edit units of measurement, as well as create new ones. To do so, click on *Create*.

Creating them is very simple. You just need to give them a code and a description.

Units of measurement can't be connected with one another. For example, if you have a box with 4 pieces, it's not possible to consider 4 pieces and 1 box as equivalents. You must create a product with the price and unit of measurement for the box and a separate one for the piece, with its corresponding price and unit of measurement. This will let you specify the price of each specific unit of measurement.

Once you've created your units of measurement, you must assign them to their corresponding products:

You can also do this in bulk when adding products using an Excel template, in the column corresponding to *Unit of measurement*:

One of your units of measurement has to be set as the default. The default unit will be assigned to all new products unless you assign them another unit when creating them.

The default unit of measurement can't be disabled.
If you disable a unit of measurement, all products that used it will automatically switch to the default unit of measurement.

Mobile app

In the mobile app, when creating an order or completing a delivery, you'll see the unit of measurement of each one of your products, as well as a list with the amount of units sold of each.
