End of route
The end-of-route process is an essential step for operations based on route sales and on-board inventory sales.
When performing the end-of-route process, we're assuming that the inventory allocation process has already been completed.
However, there are times when the seller has not completely sold all of their merchandise.
At Handy, there are three options for handling these products.
- ❌ Shrinkage: Product that is no longer in a condition to be sold (expired, damaged).
- 🏠 Warehouse: The product will be returned to be assigned at another time or to another seller.
- 🚚 Load: The seller will keep the stock in their truck to continue selling.
This is a visual example of how different products will appear at closure. We will look at each scenario (no sales appear in the example).
- Lay's Potato Chip: The user had 1 in their truck, but for some reason, it was damaged. (Shrinkage)
- Dove Body Wash: The user lost one piece during the day; only 7 are returned to their warehouse (the amount in red is a total loss).
- Clorox Disinfecting Wipes: All 9 pieces are returned to your warehouse with no missing items.
- DiGiorno Frozen Pizza: This product remains in the truck to continue selling.
- Chobani Greek Yogurt: Same as this product.
Once you have received the product and sent it to the appropriate destination, proceed to close the route.
