Importing assets
This feature allows you to add assets in bulk using an Excel template, which will save you some time.
To import your assets to Handy, go to Assets in the Main menu:
Now, click on + Add new, then on Create or edit with Excel template:
Download the Excel template, and once you have it you'll need to fill it out with your asset information. Not all fields are mandatory.
Mandatory fields
- Description
- Model
- Serial number
The other fields can be filled or left empty, although we recommend completing all fields, adding as much information as possible on your assets.
How to fill in asset information:
- Description: Give your asset a simple description, for example: medium fridge.
- Model: The asset's model. You'll need to create them first in the web portal.
- Serial number: The asset's serial number, especially helpful for your salespeople to identify the asset in the mobile app.
- Bar code: The asset's bar code, which can be scanned by your salespeople using their mobile device's camera to see more information on the asset.
- Status: The asset's current status. In this column, you can only add one of the following options. If you don't specify the asset's status, it will be automatically set to "In warehouse".
- Assigned client: The code of the client assigned to that asset.
- Enabled: Establish whether or not the asset is enabled or not.

Once you've uploaded the template, you'll see a summary of the changes being made, and once you click on "Apply", the importing process will be complete.
