Payments only allowed during active route

With this feature, you can restrict payments to only be allowed when the user has an open route. This ensures that all payments are associated with a route closure and avoids making payments outside of work hours.

Enable this setting ⚙️

Go to Settings > Clients > Permissions for mobile users in the app > **there, you'll find the setting **Payments only allowed during active route:

This setting doesn't allow payments to be completed outside an open route, guaranteeing that each payment is linked to an established route and its corresponding route-closure process.

  • If it's enabled, the user won't be able to create, edit, or delete payments unless they have an open route.
  • If it's disabled, the system will work as usual, with no restrictions on payments.

💡 Just like other settings, this one is disabled by default, so it doesn't alter the app's current behavior.

Combined use with visit restriction setting 🔄

Handy has another setting that, if enabled, restricts the creation, editing, and deletion of payments only to when a visit is taking place. You can find more information about that setting in the following article:

Restrict creation, editing, and deletion of charges to only when on a visit

If both settings are enabled:

  • Even if the user is visiting a client, if they don't have an active route, payments will be restricted.

If this is the case, Handy will show the user a notification explaining why payments are being restricted:

Benefits of enabling this setting ✅

  • It ensures all payments are associated with a route and its corresponding closure.
  • It avoids payments being made out of term.
  • Gives you control and traceability over payments made in the field.
