Reasons for return

In your day-to-day operations, you can find many reasons why a client would like to make a return. Handy lets you keep track of returns.


In Handy, reasons for return can be edited. You can add new ones and disable existing ones. To do this, go to Reasons for return in the main menu:




Here, you'll find existing reasons for return, where you can edit them and add new ones:




When creating a new reason for return, the most important field is the type of return, which you can choose here:




There are two types of returns:

  • Return: This applies to products in good condition. If a salesperson selects this reason for a return in route sales, the products will become available for sale again. In presales, they will return to your warehouse inventory if the option "Presales orders modify company inventory" is enabled.
  • Shrinkage: Returned products marked as shrinkage will not be available for route sales and will not return to the warehouse in presales.



Mobile app

In the mobile app, when the user enters a return, they must select the reason for return from the previously established list:




Whether the user must select the reason for return or not is established from the web portal, either by enabling or disabling the option "In returns it is mandatory to specify the reason", in settings > orders > return settings.


If this setting is enabled, and the user tries to enter a return without specifying the reason, they will get the following message:
